Fire me? Not without a fight... #APCIndieLove #BookBoost

I’m in a horrible mood as I write this. WARNING!

Mostly, I like working in the aviation industry. Okay, so I don’t enjoy working in the various uncomfortable weather conditions and my body has informed me it doesn’t bend and twist as much as it used to. But for the most part I find my job rewarding.

Until that is I come across certain people who are vindictive because they don’t want to do their job and make me the reason they aren’t getting their job done. I have run across such a person. And I am thankful – at least I’m 80% sure – management is on my side of things. I won’t be going down without a fight.

He has gone around to other people, and behind my back, informing them he would get me fired any way possible. When I learned this, I informed my upper management. And now, tonight while I was on break he took a picture of me while I was playing a game and sent it to my boss.

Seriously??? It was lunch break. Geez get a life dude.

Anyway, there are other stressors going on in my life and I’m venting. Because I wanted to come home and write on my newest children story: Princess Alexia and the Legend of the Trolls. And since I am in such a rotten mood it is hard to wrap my brain around a fun young girl and a pirate talking pirate.

So, my pain is your gain as I’d like to give you a sneak peek into Princess Alexia and the Legend of the Trolls. Enjoy…

Princess Alexia and the Legend of the Trolls

Chapter One
The pitch black night camouflaged the Giants who gathered at the edge of Shadow Swamp. Katydids whistled and fish leapt out of the water only to splash back in while owls hooted and crickets chirped with annoyance at the Giants. Seven-feet-tall with hunched backs, beady eyes, wrinkled skin, and bony fingers, they gave a frightful appearance.
One by one, the Giants entered their canoes and paddled across Shadow Swamp avoiding sharp stumps rising out of the water and without disturbing the guardian, Al E. Gator.
Overhead, storm clouds gathered and slivers of moonlight peeked through lighting the Giants way. On the other side, they moved through the prairie, and approached The Wandering River. Trolls snored underneath the bridge and did not waken as the Giants crossed with an unnatural stealth-like quietness.
It did not take long after crossing The Wandering River that they arrived at the Troll Village. Built into the mountain, the homes made a difficult obstacle for the Giants. However, the castle was large and there lays Princess Rasha. The leader, Goldamar, grinned a toothless smile. He imagined Princess Rasha weaving her magical spells to bring him riches he coveted.
Goldamar waited for the moonlight to disappear behind the clouds once more and gave a soft whistle, akin to a crows cackle. As one they moved in to attack the sleeping village. In the midst of heavy fighting, screams of terror, and the clashing of weapons, the heavens opened, and the heavy laden clouds unleashed its raindrops which pelted the ground.
Thunder boomed, lightning flashed, and the whipping wind carried off the noises of the battle. The Giants passed through the outer fields, into the courtyard, and knew their target would soon belong to them.

Tianjin, a loyal servant of King Elgin and Queen Serenia, alerted them of the Giant attack by a panicked guard. Tianjin ran up the stairs and pounded on the bedchamber door, “King Elgin! Queen Serenia! The village is under attack! Hurry, you must hide in the secret passage.”
The King and Queen opened their door and the commotion downstairs made its way towards them.
“Not without the Princess,” cried out Queen Serenia.
“I will get her. Go!” He shoved the lit candle into the Queen’s hand and pushed them into the secret passage.
Tianjin ran down the hall, turned the corner, passed three doors and entered Princess Rasha’s bedchamber. He went over to the large canopy bed that swallowed the petite princess and shook her awake. Using hand signs, they had developed to communicate, Tianjin got the deaf princess out of bed and dressed.
Tianjin opened the door to take Princess Rasha to the secret passage when two large Giants appeared in the hall and filled the doorway.  One Giant hit Tianjin causing him to fall and slide across the floor.
The other Giant grabbed the princess, flung her over his shoulder and carried Princess Rasha away from her village.
