Book Review: Cowboy by Staci Stallings

Staci Stallings is acclaimed to be a best selling author with 23 books under her belt since 2005. I have read two of her books with the latest one being Cowboy.

As you can see above she has two different covers. The one with the road on it is for the paperback version and the other one is for the kindle version. Is this such a good idea? What do you think?

I was drawn to the kindle version cover for her story. Unfortunately, although the author had good punctuation, and the story flowed decently, I was disappointed in this story. If you are looking for a love story without expectations this one will do you just fine.

Here is the review I posted on Amazon:

I was drawn to this book by its cover; however, the male lead was only a cowboy in image. His looks were described with the flamboyant style of a show cowboy not the real ones I have known. This was a disappointment.

I was also disappointed with the story line because as the story moved forward I kept thinking about how it mirrored Pure Country. I noticed too many similarities between this story and the story Pure County.

This is the second book I read by this author and although there is an underlying theme of Christianity in her books, I feel this aspect is generally broad in its descriptiveness of God and how He helps people heal and trust in difficult situations.

It is obvious the author has a talent to write; I am hoping that her other books have more of an original theme and goes deeper into the heart of God than the two I have read from her.

  1. Interesting concept on the two covers - I also prefer the Kindle cover.
